Rules #1 is a wall relief in which I continue to explore vines in relation to man. In this piece vines are breaking out of restraints both personal and imposed.
The frame is formed from stoneware clay which was smoke fired and finished with wax. Belgium linen which was discharged dyed covers the background. Black fibers used to prepare the discharge resist accent the surface. A vine with painted gold details is stitched onto the linen surface
