Brighton Road #2 is a wall relief in a new series of pieces which have a place and story. Besides beautiful homes overlooking Long Island Sound there are wild vine hedges of honey suckle, grape and bittersweet vines along Brighton Road. I gathered vines in the fall and winter and these became the subject matter for this and many more pieces.
The frame is formed from stoneware clay and fired in a reduction kiln. Belgium linen which was discharged dyed covers the background. Vines from Brighton Road painted with gold details and attached wire tendrils wander across linen surface.
