I just finished this series of 4×4 rain sketches for a larger triptych “The Coming Storm”. The cloud formations came from ripped magazine pages applied to 4×4 panel boards. Metallic alumina paint creates the rain effect. I love how the paint is both dull and metallic depending on your position to the piece. This contrast helps creates movement as you move while viewing the work, similar to the dynamic action of rain. I used a favorite childhood song “Drip Drip Drop” from the move Bambi to title these pieces.
