Griswold Point #3 is a wall relief inspired by Griswold Point. This local place is a long narrow piece of land at the confluence of the Connecticut River and Long Island Sound. Here the land is constantly taking new forms as weather passes it’s shores. This relief captures Griswold Point in dormancy.
The frame is formed from stoneware clay and fired in a reduction kiln. Belgium linen which was discharged dyed covers the background. Fine cotton threads remain as evidence of the dye process. Vines from the seaside painted with gold details and hung with smoke fired porcelain clay leaves wander across linen surface
