The Ceramic Presence in Modern Art at Yale Art Gallery

These are porcelain sculptures by Ruth Duckwork. They are exhibited in relation to Isamu Nagochi’s “Metamorphosis” sculpted in marble. I visited this amazing exhibition with Jill Vaughn in October.  We were thrilled by the exhibition approach to create a dialogue among the various pieces of art.  This show reinforces what Jill and I and a group we exhibit with, Gallery One,  work to provide the art lover in each of our shows. We look for the connections between the works of art and intentionally hang each show to create a dialogue among the pieces.

I highly recommend this show. Below is the art statement for The Ceramic Presence in Modern Art.  The exhibit runs through January 3. For additional information visit www.artgallery.yale.edu
